Serious injuries sustained in a Clinton County wreck

PLATTSBURG, Mo. - Serious injuries were sustained in a two vehicle crash in Clinton County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a crash report that the wreck happened on Missouri Route 116 near Northeast Woodward Ln., around 6:33 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16.

According to the Patrol, 48-year-old Matthew Williamson, of Lathrop, lost control of his 2000 Honda on the westbound side of the ice covered roadway and struck a 2008 Mercury SUV head-on.

Authorities said the SUV was being driven by 23-year-old Rachael Murphy, of Kansas City. Both drivers sustained serious injuries and were transported to Liberty Hospital. Both were wearing seatbelts.
